Martha Jewellery The Glen Waverly
A New Flagship Standard
Following the celebrated success of their Box Hill Central boutique, Martha Jewellery The Glen Waverley represents a significant evolution for the brand. Martha Jewellery engaged Studio PFA to design and project manage this second location, envisioned from the outset as their prestigious flagship boutique. To maintain brand equity, the design language remains consistent with the original boutique while scaling the opulence to suit this expansive new footprint.

A Commanding Presence on the Corner
Occupying a prime corner tenancy within the shopping centre, Martha Jewellery The Glen Waverley was created by amalgamating two separate retail units. This strategic move resulted in a generous 140m² floor area characterized by a commanding 20-metre-long by 4-metre-high shop frontage. The spatial program was meticulously planned to include a central island display, integrated wall features, a private VIP consultation area, and bespoke back-of-house facilities, ensuring every square metre serves the customer journey.
Bridging International Craftsmanship with Local Standards
Studio PFA provided full architectural services for Martha Jewellery The Glen Waverley, ranging from initial concept and landlord approvals to building permits and construction administration. A key component of our role was managing the overseas procurement of custom millwork. By overseeing the tender process and conducting rigorous factory inspections, we ensured that the millwork met all Australian standards for electrical and fire compliance, allowing the client to achieve a superior finish at a significantly lower cost than local fabrication.
Navigating Complexity with Precision
The design of Martha Jewellery The Glen Waverley features a signature curved shopfront bulkhead finished in an artisan blue polished plaster, a motif carried over from the Box Hill site. Inside, the space is defined by a polished plaster coffer ceiling and contemporary custom pendant lights, complemented by fabric-panelled feature walls with gold trim. Studio PFA’s technical coordination was vital, particularly in managing CAT1 services and ensuring construction continued through the Christmas shutdown to meet the critical Chinese New Year trading deadline.
Defining the Luxury Retail Experience
The completed project for Martha Jewellery The Glen Waverley stands as a testament to the power of collaborative design and efficient project delivery. By pre-manufacturing the majority of the internal shop components overseas, we minimized on-site construction time and costs without compromising on luxury. The result is a sophisticated retail environment where stone columns, soft curtain finishes, and bespoke displays converge to create a premier jewellery destination within the Glen Waverley shopping centre.
