Studio PFA proudly presents our latest collaboration with Zegna, marking a significant evolution from our original Ermenegildo Zegna fit-out in 2011 on Castlereagh Street. The new Zegna Sydney boutique has now relocated within the prestigious Westfield Sydney Tower, reflecting the brand’s refined identity. This relocation and rebranding project highlights our ongoing partnership and expertise in luxury retail architecture, with Studio PFA dedicated to maintaining Zegna’s high standards requirement for their new Zegna Sydney boutique.

Phased Development & Spatial Design
The new Zegna Sydney boutique was strategically planned for a two-stage development. Stage 1 encompassed a new shop entry, a front-of-house selling area, a dedicated Made-to-Measure room, fitting rooms, and essential back-of-house facilities, spanning over 100m². This initial phase established the core retail experience for the Zegna Sydney boutique, with Stage 2 slated for future expansion to further enhance the space.
Studio PFA’s Comprehensive Role
Studio PFA was engaged to localize Zegna’s international concept for the Zegna Sydney boutique, with a clear focus on upholding the brand’s precise design intent. Our responsibilities included obtaining all necessary authority and building approvals, preparing meticulous tender and construction documentation, and providing comprehensive project management services throughout the entire project lifecycle. Our attention to detail ensured the vision for the Zegna Sydney boutique was translated effectively into a compliant, buildable design that met Zegna’s high standards.
Biophilic Design & Material Compliance
A key design element of the Zegna Sydney boutique is its biophilic material selection, featuring elegant timber flooring, sophisticated timber wall paneling, and a striking shopfront facade screen. These elements combine to create a warm, welcoming, and luxurious atmosphere. Studio PFA expertly guided Zegna through Australia’s stringent regulatory requirements, specifically for fire certification and slip resistance of materials, ensuring that all chosen materials adhered to local building codes for the Zegna Sydney boutique.
Collaborative Execution & Project Outcome
Studio PFA closely collaborated with Zegna, the shopfitter, and the overseas millworker to bring the Zegna Sydney boutique to life. Our project management ensured precise execution and coordination, crucial for timely completion of overseas millwork, its accurate fitting to site measurements, and compliance with Australian building codes. This meticulous approach ensured Zegna’s high standards and original design intent were fully realized. With extensive experience working with Scentre Group (Westfield), Studio PFA expertly guided the Zegna Sydney boutique through their rigorous design approvals and CAT1 processes seamlessly, delivering a refined and compliant retail space.
