Situated within the dynamic retail environment of The Glen Shopping Centre in Victoria, Sea Harbour The Glen offers a fresh and innovative take on the specialty seafood market. Occupying a 130m² tenancy with an 8m shopfront, this project required a thoughtful and strategic approach to retail design. The vision was to create a space that not only functions as a premium seafood outlet but also elevates the customer experience through a unique, market-themed interior, setting a new standard for Sea Harbour The Glen.

A Functional and Thematic Space Program
The space program for Sea Harbour The Glen was meticulously planned to optimize both aesthetics and functionality. It features a welcoming new shopfront entry and facade, leading into a front-of-house sales area and POS. The design embraces a modern supermarket theme, complete with organized aisle shelving, dedicated deep freezer and fridge sections, and a back-of-house area with all necessary functions and a store room. Every element of Sea Harbour The Glen was crafted to provide a seamless and engaging customer journey.
Studio PFA’s Comprehensive Role
Studio PFA provided full architectural services for Sea Harbour The Glen, overseeing the entire project from initial concept design to its successful completion. Our role included detailed design development, crafting custom millwork designs, and expertly managing all required landlord and building permit approvals. We meticulously handled tender documentation and provided architectural and project management services throughout the construction phase. Our team also expertly coordinated CAT1 services (MEP & Fire services) to ensure a smooth and efficient build for Sea Harbour The Glen.
Innovative Design Solutions
A significant challenge for Sea Harbour The Glen was the need to adhere to a cost-effective strategy and reuse existing elements from the previous kiosk. Studio PFA expertly navigated this constraint by integrating the existing shopfront facade, which was originally a curved bamboo frame designed by our team. This strategic reuse not only resulted in substantial cost savings for Sea Harbour The Glen but also effectively met key Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) goals, demonstrating our commitment to smart and sustainable solutions.
Captivating Design Elements Define Sea Harbour The Glen
The project’s key design feature is a striking fresh water mother-of-pearl jade illuminated entry border. Imported from England, the exquisite Siminetti mosaic tiles form a soft, curved entry that evokes the delicate beauty of a pearl shell’s interior, creating an immersive experience for every customer. This meticulous attention to detail, combined with the harmonious blend of function and form, ensures that Sea Harbour The Glen truly stands out as a precious pearl within The Glen Shopping Centre.
