Studio PFA has proudly partnered with Monards since its inception in 1991, overseeing numerous transformations of this esteemed establishment. The latest significant fit-out for Monards 101 involved a strategic expansion into an adjacent tenancy, dramatically increasing its footprint. This ambitious project introduced an impressive 15-linear-metre new shop frontage, a substantial 130m2 mezzanine level, a striking new curved feature staircase, and a dedicated passenger lift, all contributing to the enhanced luxury experience at Monards 101.

Comprehensive Architectural Expertise
Studio PFA provided a full spectrum of architectural services for the Monards 101 expansion, ensuring a seamless journey from initial concept to final execution. Our involvement encompassed every critical phase, including meticulous concept design, detailed design development, custom millwork design, interior design, securing necessary planning and building permits, and preparing comprehensive tender documentation. Furthermore, Studio PFA maintained an active role throughout the construction phase, offering essential architectural services and diligently managing the project to ensure its successful and timely completion for Monards 101.
Elevating Design: The Innovative Mezzanine Ceiling
A key design challenge at Monards 101 was the client’s desire for maximum ceiling height in the new mezzanine area, despite the presence of existing base building structural beams and services. Studio PFA ingeniously transformed this constraint into an opportunity, creating elegant illuminated coffer ceilings within the existing structure. The decorative plaster cornice was meticulously detailed to conceal LED lighting, resulting in a refined decorative finish that not only achieved the desired additional height but also cast a soft, illuminated glow, enhancing the luxurious ambiance of Monards 101.
Harmonious Flow: The Iconic Curved Stairs
Another pivotal design feature at Monards 101 was the seamless integration of the new mezzanine with the existing, iconic Monards watch face flooring. To achieve this, Studio PFA conceptualized and developed a stunning curved stair design that harmoniously connects the two levels. Leveraging extensive knowledge and experience in retail building regulations, Studio PFA efficiently and effectively coordinated with all required consultants, ensuring the flawless execution of the stairs and mezzanine, creating a cohesive and visually captivating flow throughout Monards 101.
